1. Information We Collect

When you sign up, we collect your name and email address via Google/Apple login or email sign-up. You can choose to keep your email address private. We do not collect behavioral data for advertising or tracking purposes. We do not access your device contacts, location, or camera roll without permission.

2. Use of Your Data

Snowball's use and transfer of any information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use your data solely to provide Snowball's features and services. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. Access to your data is limited to our app developers and administrators for maintenance and improvement of the app.

3. Social Features and Content Visibility

Snowball includes social features like logs, walls, profiles, and friends.

Profiles: Your profile is private by default. Other Snowball users can find you by searching your name, but unless you're friends they can only see your name, username, and profile photo. They can't see your logs or walls.

Friends: To see each other's logs and walls, one of you has to send a friend request and the other has to accept it.

Friend Lists: Only your friends can see your friend list and how many friends you have.

Logs: Your logs are visible to your friends. When you create a log, you can choose to hide it, which means no one else can see it, including your friends. You can delete any log anytime.

Shared Walls: If you add a log to a shared wall, every member of that wall can see it, even if the log is hidden and even if a member isn't your friend.

Reports: You can report logs or users at any time for review.

4. Social Graph and Interaction Data

We store limited metadata about your interactions (e.g. who you add as a friend, logs you react to, logs you comment under) to support social features like mutual friends or interaction counts.

This data is not used for advertising, profiling, or external sharing. It exists solely to enable Snowball's core social experience.

5. Abuse Reporting and Moderation

You can report any user or log that you believe violates our community guidelines.

Our team reviews these reports and may remove content or restrict accounts that engage in spam, harassment, impersonation, or other violations. In serious cases, we may preserve limited account data for investigation purposes as required by law.

6. User-Generated Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create: your logs, captions, and photos. By posting, you grant us a limited license to display that content within the app to the people allowed to see it (e.g. your friends' feeds, your walls, and shared walls you're a member of).

We will never use your content for promotional or commercial purposes outside of the app without your explicit permission.

7. Data Deletion and Retention

You can delete your account anytime through the app. Your data will be permanently deleted from our servers immediately. This includes your logs, photos, and account information.

8. Security

We use strong security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access or misuse. Data is stored securely and access is limited to essential personnel.

We comply with Apple's and Google's data privacy requirements to ensure industry-standard protections.

9. Legal Compliance

Snowball is available in multiple countries and we strive to comply with all relevant data protection laws and app platform policies. If required by law, we may share limited data with authorities following due process.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app or privacy practices. When we do, we will update the effective date and notify users as needed. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest updates.
